For thepast couple of years I have flat out lied to my sisters about going out forBlack Friday shopping. I have told them time and time again that I would stayup all night and go out with them in the wee hours of the morning to snag thoseamazing deals. This has never happened. I thinkthe latest I have ever stayed up for Black Friday shopping is 11pm onThanksgiving Day. I just do not have the energy to stay up late and battle thecrowds. To be perfectly honest, the crowds do not want me battling them either{I get very cranky when I am tired}. Just knowing that I am going to have towake up at 6:00am the following morning with two little boys has me in mypajamas and clutching a pillow shortly after dinner has been devoured.
Needlessto say I am not one of those people out at 3 am trying to get the best deal ona flat screen or whatever the hot ticket item is. I am the person who poursover the ads and tries to find the best deal for Black Friday shopping on BlackFriday. I have done a little bit of Thanksgiving shopping before, but amusually just too pooped to do more than grab a few things and call it a night.
Thisyear I have been trying to keep an eye out for the online ads as well as thedepartment store ads that have leaked early. I have been doing price comparisonand have been getting a lot of gift ideas as well. I
I knowfor sure that we will be getting the Disney film Brave for Christmas, but asidefrom that I am keeping my options open and my eye out for a bargain.
When Iworked retail I was not a fan of Black Friday. Granted I only worked retail forone year during the holiday season and even then it was for an Office Depotstore. While I had a great time working that day {I like to have fun whenworking. If I am not having a good time, then what’s the point?} I was not afan of having to be at work at 3am. Needless to say I quickly stopped workingretail. I highly value my sleep.
As aconsumer, not an employee having to work, I enjoy Black Friday shopping. I likesearching out great deals. I love spending time with my sisters shopping forthe kids and I really like spending Thursday evening looking through ads withmy family.
